Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your email. My client is very interested in pursuing her Master's at Nottingham University. However, as she has not been able to attain the required score of IELTS even after 4 tries and as we are living in a COVID-19 world with all the travel and visa restrictions in place, my client is greatly concerned about going outside UK for her study. Being in the education industry for over two decades now, I have come across various situations and hence can vouch that my client’s situation is not an uncommon one. There have been cases where students who were not able to get the required scores were offered to do Pre-Sessional English course at the university itself(notice how this was non-verbal correspondence but i was able to mention the course name!) which they eventually completed and thereafter progressed into their degree course. In case you need any further details on my previous clients, please let me know. Thanks You
Not long after sending the above email,我们收到了回复: We have discussed the application and although we agree there may be some reason why we cannot make a decision at this point in time, we are reluctant to make any promises or hold onto any hope that we will offer the person a place just because it is ‘in their interest’. We feel our hands are tied and we would like to explore other avenues should you wish to investigate them with us.
In order to understand what happened here, we need to take a step back to last year when this student initially applied. When she did so,she had a low IELTS overall score of 6.0 and had only studied in the UK. Our initial plan was to prepare her for an on campus interview and discuss her options with the school once that was finished.
